What is Crowbits-Power Supply(Small)?

The power supply is the heart of the Crowbits, The power supply is the power source of the entire Crowbits eco-system and modules, allowing to power them both by battery and power cord connection.

How does it work?

On the technical side, the battery is a Lithium battery, the same battery that most of us have inside our phone this day. The voltage of the battery is 3.7V, 3.7 is a bit too much for our use case and the CrowBits, in order to protect them we step down using a module called DC-DC regulator from 3.7V to 3.3V - this allows us to power on the Crowbits safety.

1. The power supply module is rechargeable, it can be charged by a 5V/1A power adapter through a micro USB interface.

Use cases

You will use the power supply to power the rest of the Crowbits when working with them and making various projects.

1. The power supply contains a battery, the battery is a re-rechargeable battery (same like our mobile phones) it can be charged by 5V/1A (ampere) power adapter through a micro USB interface. It’s possible to charge it through the laptop USB port or any other.

2. Make sure not to plug it to a voltage source of 5+ (for example: 12V) it will burn your little Crowbits.

3. When the power is about to run out, an indicator on top of the button will turn off, that means it’s a tie to charge the power supply module by plugging it into 5V source using a USB cable.

4. During the charging process the power indicator on the left of the micro USB will stay on, it will automatically turn off once the power supply is fully charged.
