A new product of the Crowtail family, it is a GSM and GPS two-in-one function module which is called Crowtail- SIM808. We added a Crowtail interface to it so that you can use it easily. It is very small and based on the latest GSM/GPS module SIM808 from SIMCOM, supports GSM/GPRS Quad-Band network, and combines GPS technology for satellite navigation. It has high GPS receive sensitivity with 22 tracking and 66 acquisition receiver channels that will let you add location-tracking, voice, text, SMS and data to your project in an adorable little package. We can power it with a 3.7V lithium battery, so it can be used as a portable module, even you can attach it to your bicycle, it can obtain the speed/location information. In addition, it has an onboard LiPoly battery charging circuitry so that you can take your project on the go. A nice module that can achieve lots of functions. You need it now!
Note: On its own, this module can't do anything. It requires a microcontroller to drive it! We suggest and use an Arduino-compatible board but any 3-5V microcontroller with a UART can send and receive commands over the RX/TX pins. the micro USB connector is for charging only.
