I2C-RS422/485 Converter with Grove Connector. This adapter allows you to perform half-duplex RS422/RS485 transmission and reception processing from I2C.
This adapter converts the I2C port of a microcontroller into an RS422/RS485 communication port.
This adapter allows you to perform half-duplex RS422/RS485 transmission and reception processing from I2C.
It can be controlled as an I2C device from a microcontroller, and in addition to transmission and reception, you can also set the RS422/RS485 baud rate.
It is equipped with the I2C/UART protocol bridge SC16IS750 and the RS422/RS485 conversion IC ST3485EIDT.
The I2C is a Grove compatible connector and supports 3.3V/5V power supplies.
The RS422/RS485 port is equipped with a 2.54mm pitch screw terminal (VDD, RS422/485+, RS422/485-, GND).
The I2C/UART protocol bridge SC16IS750 has a built-in 64-byte buffer. Equipped with a 7.3728MHz crystal oscillator, the RS422/RS485 baud rate can be set independently of the microcontroller's main clock.
The default I2C address is 8bit:0x9A (7bit:0x4D).
Note
For half-duplex RS422/RS485 communication, set RTS to High when transmitting and set RTS to Low when not transmitting.
The termination resistor RX2 is not implemented. Connect a termination resistor to RX2 or the terminal block as necessary.
