CrowCaddie transforms the Elecrow CrowPanel 7.0" ESP32-S3 HMI into an autonomous, commercial-grade golf cart terminal combining a visual caddie HUD, long-range fleet telemetry, and an active safety governor.
Operating on an offline-first architecture, CrowCaddie renders high-resolution 800×480 hole maps and live satellite yardages to the pin at 60 FPS using LVGL. When carts approach restricted turf (greens,
bunkers, hazard zones), high-speed point-in-polygon algorithms trigger an onboard relay spliced into the cart's forward microswitch—safely cutting forward acceleration while leaving reverse open so golfers
can back away.
For fleet tracking, carts broadcast compact 20-byte telemetry over 915MHz LoRa to a silent clubhouse gateway kilometers away. At night, carts wake on barn WiFi to pull delta updates—downloading course
blueprints, 280×150 sponsor banners, and calibration offsets in under 2 seconds.
