Cap EEG Kit, 8 Channels: Everything You Need to Start Measuring EEG

A ready-to-wear EEG cap with 8 dry Ag/AgCl electrodes and 2 ear-clip electrodes, pre-placed on the international 10-20 system. No gel, no soldering, no guesswork: put the cap on, plug the cables into your PiEEG board and see brain waves in minutes.

Why this kit?

• No gel needed. Dry Ag/AgCl electrodes give a fast, clean setup with no washing afterwards.
• Plug and play. Every electrode ends in a standard 2.54 mm connector that fits PiEEG boards directly.

• 1 x EEG cap, nylon, size L
• 8 x dry Ag/AgCl electrodes, each with a cable and a 2.54 mm connector
• 2 x ear-clip electrodes with 2.54 mm connectors (reference and bias)

Specifications

How to use

1. Put on the cap so the Fp1 and Fp2 electrodes sit on the forehead, just above the eyebrows, and the cap is centred on the head.
2. Part the hair under each electrode with a finger so it touches the scalp.
3. Clip the two ear electrodes onto clean earlobes.
4. Plug the 8 electrode cables into channels 1 to 8 of your PiEEG device, and the ear clips into the reference and bias inputs. Note which position goes to which channel.
5. Power the device from a battery and start the software.
6. Check the signal: blink a few times (big spikes on Fp1 and Fp2), then close your eyes for 10 seconds (alpha rhythm rises on O1 and O2).

Tips for a clean signal

• Clean the forehead and earlobes with an alcohol wipe before use.
• Make sure the ear clips sit firmly: a loose reference makes every channel noisy.
• Sit still and relax the face and jaw while recording.
• For long or demanding sessions, a little conductive gel or saline under the electrodes gives an even steadier signal.
• Wipe the electrodes after use and let the cap dry before storing.
