Power Pal is a high-power, 3.3, 5 and 12 V DC-DC Step-Down Voltage Regulator that converts 14.5–52 V input into 3.3, 5 and 12 V rails simultaneously from a single module.

It is designed to power complete systems, motors, logic, and peripherals from one high-voltage source without juggling multiple converters, wiring harnesses, or protection circuits.

With 160 W continuous output and up to 250 W possible with active cooling, Power Pal features built-in protection, soft-start, external enable, and power-good monitoring, providing a clean, reliable power backbone that scales from bench prototypes to production hardware.

Power Pal is a high-power, triple-output DC-DC buck regulator designed to deliver clean, stable, multi-voltage power from a single high-voltage source.

Built for engineers who need reliable power across development, testing, and production, Power Pal accepts 14.5–52 V input and simultaneously generates 12 V, 5 V, and 3.3 V rails with up to 160 W continuous output power and 250 W peak capability with active cooling.

A two-stage architecture, comprehensive protection, soft-start, external enable, and power-good monitoring make Power Pal ideal for robotics, industrial systems, battery-powered electronics, and embedded controllers.

Why Multi-Rail Power Matters

Modern systems rarely run from a single voltage. Motors, compute, sensors, radios, and peripherals all demand different rails, tight regulation, and predictable startup behavior.

Power Pal eliminates the complexity of juggling multiple converters, wiring harnesses, and protection schemes by delivering all critical rails from one robust module, while maintaining clean regulation under dynamic conditions.

Key Features

Triple-Output High-Power Regulation

Simultaneously provides:

  • 12 V @ 10 A continuous (up to 16–20 A with active cooling)

  • 5 V @ 5 A continuous (up to 6–7 A peak)

  • 3.3 V @ 5 A continuous (up to 6–7 A peak)

All rails are available at the same time and regulated independently.

Wide Input Range (14.5–52 V)

Designed for 5S–12S lithium battery packs, industrial DC buses, and automotive-adjacent systems.

Integrated undervoltage lockout prevents brownout operation and unstable startup.

Comprehensive Protection Built In

  • Reverse polarity input protection (ideal-diode MOSFET)

  • Input TVS surge protection

  • TVS protection on all outputs

  • Overcurrent limiting on each rail

  • Overtemperature shutdown with hysteresis

  • Undervoltage lockout and fault handling

Designed to survive real-world wiring mistakes, load faults, and transient events.

External Enable & Power-Good Monitoring

  • Active-low Enable (EN) input with internal pull-down
Floating or pulled low enables the module. Driving EN high disables all outputs.

  • Power-Good (PGOOD) output asserts low during faults, undervoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, or when disabled.

Ideal for system sequencing, microcontroller supervision, and fault logging.

Adjustable Output Voltage Trim

Each rail includes a fine trim potentiometer to compensate for:

  • Cable voltage drop

  • Load tolerance

  • System-level calibration

Trim ranges are intentionally constrained to maintain stability and reliability.

Soft-Start for Predictable Power-Up

An 80 ms controlled soft-start reduces inrush current and prevents overshoot during startup, protecting downstream electronics and connectors.

Designed for Real-World Integration

  • High-current screw terminal connections

  • Dedicated VIN pass-through terminal

  • Optional 12 V fan header for active cooling

  • Compact footprint with mounting support

Typical Applications

  • Robotics and autonomous systems

  • Prototyping and test equipment

  • Battery-powered embedded electronics

  • Industrial controllers and I/O systems

  • Motor control support electronics

  • Auxiliary rails for non-isolated PoE systems

Important Usage Notes

  • Power Pal can reach temperatures capable of causing burns under high load or high input-to-output voltage ratios. Handle with care.

  • Always power down before connecting or disconnecting loads.

  • Long input or output wiring should use twisted pairs and local bulk capacitance.

  • Inductive loads require proper suppression such as flyback diodes or TVS protection. Consider using ideal diodes to prevent back feeding into the regulator.

  • Additional bulk output capacitance should be added cautiously, as excessive capacitance can affect control loop stability.

Detailed guidance is provided in the datasheet application notes

Built for Engineers Who Ship

Power Pal is not a dev-board toy or fragile lab module. It is a production-ready power platform designed with the same protection, margin, and integration considerations used in shipped hardware.

Whether you are powering a bench prototype or a deployed system, Power Pal delivers trusted, scalable power management without redesigning your power tree at every stage.
