Cap EEG Kit, 16 Channels: Full-Head EEG, Ready to Wear
A ready-to-wear EEG cap with 16 dry Ag/AgCl electrodes and 2 ear-clip electrodes, pre-placed on the international 10-20 system. Cover the whole head (frontal, central, temporal, parietal and occipital areas) with no gel and no guesswork. Put the cap on, plug the cables into your PiEEG-16 and record 16 channels of EEG in minutes.
Why this kit?
Full-head coverage. 16 electrodes at standard 10-20 positions, from the forehead to the back of the head.
No gel needed. Dry Ag/AgCl electrodes give a fast, clean setup with no washing afterwards. Ag/AgCl is well known for its low impedance and high signal quality.
Plug and play. Every electrode ends in a standard 2.54 mm connector that fits PiEEG boards directly.
Complete kit. Cap, 16 signal electrodes and both ear clips (reference and bias), all in one box.
Comfortable and reusable. Soft, stretchy nylon cap for repeated sessions.
Put on the cap so Fp1 and Fp2 sit on the forehead, just above the eyebrows, and the cap is centred on the head.
Part the hair under each electrode with a finger so it touches the scalp.
Clip the two ear electrodes onto clean earlobes.
Plug the 16 electrode cables into channels 1 to 16 of your PiEEG-16, and the ear clips into the reference and bias inputs. Note which position goes to which channel.
Power the device from a battery and start the software.
Check the signal: blink a few times (big spikes on Fp1 and Fp2), then close your eyes for 10 seconds (alpha rhythm rises on O1 and O2).
Tips for a clean signal
Clean the forehead and earlobes with an alcohol wipe before use.
Make sure the ear clips sit firmly: a loose reference makes every channel noisy.
Bundle the 16 cables together and keep them still. Moving cables show up as noise.
Sit still and relax the face and jaw while recording.
For long or demanding sessions, a little conductive gel or saline under the electrodes gives an even steadier signal.
Wipe the electrodes after use and let the cap dry before storing.
