Kit to measure EMG/ECG/EKG, contain 3 cables and connectors & 50 snap-on electrodes

EMG / ECG Kit: Measure Muscle and Heart Signals with Your PiEEG Device

Everything you need to record muscle (EMG) and heart (ECG / EKG) signals: 3 lead cables with 2.54 mm connectors and 50 high-quality self-adhesive Ag/AgCl snap electrodes. Peel, stick, snap and plug in. Start measuring in under a minute.

Why this kit?

  • Plug and play. The cables end in standard 2.54 mm connectors that fit PiEEG boards directly. No soldering, no adapters.
  • Clean, stable signals. Silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) sensors with a solid gel interface give low-noise contact with the skin.
  • Comfortable for movement. Soft, flexible, breathable non-woven backing that moves with the body, suitable for long recordings.
  • Quick to apply. Self-adhesive electrodes stay in place without tape or straps.
  • Plenty of electrodes. 50 electrodes for many sessions and experiments.

What you can do with it

  • Record muscle activity (EMG) from the forearm, biceps, leg or jaw
  • Build gesture and prosthetics projects controlled by muscle signals
  • Measure heart activity (ECG / EKG) and calculate heart rate
  • Teach physiology and biomedical engineering with real signals
  • Combine with an EEG cap to record brain, muscle and heart signals together

Compatible devices

Works with PiEEG devices that have a 2.54 mm electrode header:

The EEG / biosignal device is not included. Order it separately.

Packing list

  • 3 x lead cables with snap connectors and 2.54 mm pin connectors
  • 50 x self-adhesive snap-on electrodes, Ag/AgCl with solid gel, ⌀ 45 mm

Specifications

Signals EMG, ECG / EKG
Cables 3, with 2.54 mm pin connectors
Electrodes 50, snap-on, self-adhesive
Electrode diameter 45 mm
Sensor Stainless steel snap (top), silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) sensor (bottom)
Skin interface Solid gel
Backing Soft, breathable non-woven material
Weight 181 g

How to use

  1. Clean the skin with an alcohol wipe and let it dry.
  2. Peel the electrodes and stick them on the skin (see placement below).
  3. Snap a cable onto each electrode.
  4. Plug one cable into a channel input of your PiEEG device, and the other two into the reference and bias inputs.
  5. Power the device from a battery and start the software. Clench your fist to see muscle bursts (EMG), or sit still to see your heartbeat (ECG).

Where to place the electrodes

Measurement Signal (channel) Reference and bias
EMG, forearm On the belly of the forearm muscle On bony spots nearby, such as the elbow and the wrist
EMG, biceps On the middle of the biceps On the elbow and the shoulder
ECG / EKG Left side of the chest, or left wrist Right side of the chest or right wrist, and lower abdomen or right ankle

Tips

  • Clean, dry skin gives the best contact. Remove lotion and hair from the area if needed.
  • Electrodes are designed for single use: use fresh ones for each session for the best signal and hygiene.
  • Store unused electrodes sealed in their pack, away from heat, so the gel doesn't dry out.
  • Keep cables short and still. Moving cables show up as noise.
