IoT Gateway Board is designed for makers who want a versatile IoT hub with SD card storage and LED indicators.

This PCB uses the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N4R8 as the MCU and is designed to be connected directly to a USB charger, serving as a gateway system for wireless communication via Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi, and ESP-NOW.

  • Acts as a local network host to send commands to multiple devices or receive sensor information and log it onto an SD Card
  • Controls robots communicating via ESP-NOW using an interface created on a PC

To make this board versatile, various interface components are implemented:

  • LED (WS2812B)
->Intended as an indicator for current network status
  • Tactile Switch
->Intended as a trigger for user settings, such as entering AP mode or resetting configurations
  • Slide Switch (SPDT type)
-> intended to hold multiple presets during system operation and allow switching between them
  • Micro SD card slot
-> intended for recording data logs

This product is sold as a PCB only, but since it connects directly to a USB connector, I considered the risk of an electrical short.
Therefore, I also designed an enclosure. It is designed so that if you print it with PLA material using a 3D printer, it can be used without any problem. Please print it with your home 3D printer or request manufacturing from Elecrow and use it.

Background of Development

As a hobby, I enjoy playing racing simulators and learned that by using software called SimHub, it is possible to retrieve in-game data.
I thought that if this information could be displayed on an M5Stack, it would allow me to view details that cannot be shown on the PC screen alone.
I wanted to make this idea a reality! And if I were going to do it, I wanted to enable multiple devices to display the information simultaneously.
This led me to develop a board that could advertise data wirelessly from the PC.
