What is WiFi Halow?
Wi-Fi HaLow (based on the IEEE 802.11ah) is a low-power, long-range wireless communication technology designed by the Wi-Fi Alliance specifically for IoT scenarios. Compared to traditional Wi-Fi technology, it operates in the Sub-1 GHz unlicensed frequency band (mainly the 900MHz band). This frequency gives it stronger diffraction capabilities and penetration, enabling it to effectively penetrate buildings, vegetation, and other obstacles, thus overcoming the inherent limitations of traditional Wi-Fi in terms of coverage and environmental penetration.
The ThinkNode G4 Wi-Fi HaLow gateway is a long-range, high-speed wireless communication device designed for IoT applications. Based on IEEE 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) technology, it operates in the Sub-1GHz unlicensed frequency band. Theoretically, it can achieve a transmission distance of over 1 kilometer and supports data transmission rates up to 32 Mbps, perfectly filling the technological gaps of traditional Wi-Fi's short coverage and LoRa's low speeds.
The gateway is equipped with a high-performance MCU and advanced RF front-end, supporting dual-band design for both Wi-Fi HaLow and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and provides an Ethernet interface for flexible integration into existing network infrastructure. Configuration and OTA upgrades can be completed through a simple Web UI. It supports various networking methods such as AP, STA, and Mesh, and a single gateway can connect to a large number of devices, making it an ideal choice for smart manufacturing, smart cities, and smart agriculture scenarios.
