Rugged IoT Smartwatch Case

This project is a rugged, 3D-printable smartwatch enclosure designed specifically for wearable IoT devices. Unlike consumer smartwatches, it focuses on durability, modularity, and rapid prototyping for engineers and makers. The enclosure features a two-part snap-fit design, supports standard watch straps, and can be easily customized to fit different PCBs, displays, and batteries.

Story

 

Wearable IoT devices often operate in harsh environments where standard smartwatch housings are not sufficient. This project presents a rugged, 3D-printable smartwatch enclosure designed specifically for IoT and embedded applications such as industrial monitoring, field data collection, and prototyping.

The enclosure is easy to customize, and optimized for desktop 3D printers.

After printing, the case can be sealed with a rubber gasket and transparent acrylic or glass for basic water resistance.
