The WashTastic mesh radio node, designed for Meshtastic, features a 1-Watt E22-900M30S radio and nRF52 MCU for low-power, off-grid use. It includes a CN3191 charger for 5-28V sources and XB8089D0 battery protection. PCB files are on GitHub. Check local power regulations.
The WashTastic mesh radio node is built for Meshtastic but adapts easily to other applications. It combines a powerful 1-Watt E22-900M30S radio module with a nRF52-based MCU for low power operation.
The nRF52 MCU was chosen for its low power consumption — ideal for off-grid and energy-constrained projects. The radio gives a maximum power output of 1-Watt, allowing flexibility where other nodes may struggle. Please note that this power level exceeds legal limits in Europe, so always check local regulations and adjust accordingly.
For efficient power management, the board integrates a CN3791-based charger, allowing battery charging through a solar panel or any 5-28V power source. Additionally, an on-board XB8089D0 chip safeguards the battery, ensuring safe and reliable long-term operation. If you want to build your version, the files needed to order the PCB are freely available on GitHub.
