Story

8x8 LED Matrix Circuit using 74HC595

I drew this circuit out of the need to reduce the number of connections to the Arduino platform, it uses 2 shift registers 74HC595 together with 8 current limiting resistors. It can be seen as an alternative to circuit with MAX7219. It works quite well for a 2*2cm 8x8 LED matrix.

Note: The matrix used in this circuit is very small, probably the smallest version made.

 

P.S. I am not the original author of this circuit, I just draw it.
